Bella Hadid Blurs Reality With Lil Miquela in the New Calvin Klein #MyCalvins Ad

Today, Miquela, the realistic robot, added something new to her resume. She joined Calvin Klein’s star-studded lineup as the final star in I Speak My Truth in #MyCalvins. In her ad, she was partnered with model Bella Hadid. I think she almost broke the internet?

The Calvin Klein campaign encourages individuals to embrace vulnerability through a series of videos featuring musicians, actors, and models sharing their truths. Billie Eilish, Chika Oranika, Noah Centineo, Shawn Mendes, and more kicked off the series last week. For the final video installment, Bella Hadid joins the mix and is seen standing in a dimly lit blue room before the lights come up to show Lil Miquela walking in to greet her.

“19-year-old robot Lil Miquela blurs the lines of truth and fiction with Bella Hadid. Is this a dream or real?,” the brand writes in the video description. “Life is about opening doors’, Hadid says, as Hadid caresses Miquela’s face, “creating new dreams, that you never knew could exist.” Then, the pair shares a kiss and stare at each other until the light dims again.

The video def shook a lot of people and the animation was so surreal but it def might rub people the wrong way even though the message is supposed to be an inspiring one during this campaign roll out. We will see where this story goes.
