Amen Releases 2nd single , “McCormick Ave” from debut EP
The 2nd single from Amen’s project “Real”, as officially surface and it’s as good as the others. The single comes from her highly anticipated EP, “Real”, an 80’s RnB type of instrumental with beautiful vocals flowing on top.
Sultry, passionate and riddled with emotion, “Real” marks the debut of Bay Area newcomer Amen, who describes her sound like “ drinking hot tea outside with a cool breeze.” “Real” was primarily overseen and executive produced by Bay Area go-to producer Drew Banga, who was recently interviewed and profiled by Vice (“Drew Banga Wants to Spark the Bay Area’s Rap Resurgence”). He’s also featured in Toro Y Moi’s new album “Soul Trash” (track “4-26-18_tonys_drewbanga_hifi”) and Mr. Carmack’s new album “VIISTA” out 11/22 (track “Catharsis feat. Drew Banga”). Other recent credits include the co-production of Kamaiyah’s “Windows” feat. Quavo & Tyga with Trackademicks, currently at 3.8 million streams on Spotify alone. Drew has made quite a name for himself as the go-to producer in the Bay Area, working early on with artists who go on to rise to the top – including Kamaiyah (“I’m On”), Calebrate (“Bankrobber”), Rexx Life Raj & Ymtk (“What’s Up”) 1-O.A.K. (“Lost & Found” co-produced with Kuya Beats) and BossLife Big Spence’s (BossLife Summer album, including “10k” remix featuring G-Eazy).
Amen herself has been featured in a string of projects, most recently in Text Me Records’ Group Chat Vol. 2 (“Hip To Thigh” with Tia Nomore”) and as a featured artist on Mikos Da Gawd’ album “Hell Yeah, Brother!” (track “Brand New” with Caleborate). Amen is short for Amen’Auset, which translates as “one who seeks truth through trance” and Amen has found that she’s lived up to her name, finding her truth in music. “REAL” marks Amen’s official debut into the world which she calls home.
